Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore is a resort community located near the Western border of Riverside County and is included in what’s known as the Inland Empire.  The Elsinore Mountains, which are part of the Santa Ana Mountains, border it’s western side. The lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in Southern California and covers over 3000 square feet. The lake was originally known as Laguna Grande.

The area offers a variety of water activities including boating, water skiing, windsurfing, kayaking and fishing.  It is also popular for it’s many actions sports such as ski-diving, hang-gliding, mountain biking and motocross racing. It is also home to the Lake Elsinore Diamond that hosts minor league baseball games.

Per the US Census bureau 2020, the population in Lake Elsinore is over 70,000 residents and median age is 30.6. Median Home price in early 2021 was $439,000 and average household income is $71,476,000. The community has seen strong growth in population, housing and retail over the last 20 years. Lake Elsinore School district services the community and they have about a dozen elementary schools, four middle schools and three high schools.

Near by cities include Wildomar and Canyon Lake and is just south of Temescal Valley. Hwy 15 is a major commuter route to Temecula and San Diego County and is just East of the city. The Ortega Hwy (74) travels East/West and serves as a thoroughfare to South Orange County.
