The city of Fontana is located on the west side of San Bernardino County and sits at the bottom of the San Gabriel Mountains. Main highways including the 15 freeway, the 10 freeway and the 210 freeway provide easy access to Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside. The Ontario airport is only 10 minutes away and the Metrolink also offers easy transport to cities throughout Southern California.

The city was founded in 1917 and it made its mark in the steel industry and its Kaiser Steel Mill.  The area was also known for its citrus orchards, vineyards and chicken ranches. As of 2020, Fontana is nice suburban community with a population of just over 208,000 making it the 19th largest city in California.

Fontana is an eco-friendly community and conscientious about air pollution. The city has made considerable progress in clearing the air over the years and has won awards for its efforts to build green. 

Its location offers beautiful views and plenty of hiking, outdoor activities, and parks such as the Fiesta Park, Fontana Park, Martin Tudor Jurupa Hills Regional Park and the Mary Vagle Nature Center.  The Auto Club Speedway offers racing fans the perfect place to watch Nascar races.

The City of Fontana is now primarily a suburban area with  plenty of business and industry. The biggest employers in the area are Kaiser Permanente, Target Corporation and Fontana Unified School District.

Fontana has 66 public schools overseen by the Fontana Unified School district and 15 private and charter schools. The Median home sold price as of September 2021 was $560,000.
